(Re)Link is built with privacy as its foundation, not as an afterthought. This policy explains exactly what happens with your data when you use the app. The short version: your data stays between you and Honda.

Honda servers only

(Re)Link communicates exclusively with official Honda and Acura servers to authenticate your account and retrieve vehicle data. No data passes through any intermediary or third-party server.

The app connects to:

  • Honda Identity Services for authentication
  • Honda vehicle API for commands and data
  • Honda's real-time service for live updates

That's it. No proxy, no relay, no middleman.

No analytics or tracking

(Re)Link contains zero analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no usage telemetry. We don't know how often you open the app, which screens you visit, or what buttons you tap.

There is no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Sentry, no Google Analytics, and no crash reporting service. If the app crashes, we don't know about it unless you tell us.

No data collection

We do not collect, store, or sell any of your personal information. Your Honda credentials, vehicle data, and usage patterns are never transmitted to us or any third party.

All communication happens directly between your device and Honda's servers. The developer has no access to your account, your vehicle, or your data.

Secure local storage

Your credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's encrypted credential storage system. They never leave your device in plain text.

Data stored locally on your device:

  • Authentication tokens (in iOS Keychain, encrypted)
  • Your email and vehicle identifier (in iOS Keychain, encrypted)
  • User preferences like climate temperature (in local app storage)

All sensitive data is encrypted by iOS at the hardware level. Uninstalling the app removes everything.

No third-party services

(Re)Link uses no third-party services whatsoever. No cloud databases, no analytics platforms, no ad networks, no push notification services.

The only external dependency is an open-source WebSocket library used to communicate with Honda's real-time data service. It contains no tracking code.

Vehicle data

The app retrieves the following data from Honda's servers and displays it locally on your device:

  • Battery level, charge status, and estimated completion time
  • Electric range and odometer reading
  • Tire pressure for all four wheels
  • Climate and preconditioning status
  • Charger power level and voltage

This data is fetched, displayed, and discarded. It is never stored permanently, forwarded, or shared with anyone.
